J.W. Speaker: Professional Work
J.W. Speaker is a manufacturing company located in Germantown, Wisconsin that specializes in LED lighting and technology. I started here as an intern during my senior year of college and was hired on as a Marketing Specialist and Designer following graduation. In this role, I have worked on marketing emails, design layouts, learning 3D rendering software, image editing, as well as other design needs.
Email Marketing
When starting at J.W. Speaker, email marketing was something that I was introduced to pretty quickly. Today, I can say that I am very confident in navigating and understanding their purpose. In J.W. Speaker’s Marketing Department, we use HubSpot to manage emails going out to customers.
As customer’s lists shift and evolve, it’s important to watch numbers and adapt content to stay relevant in the customers inbox. At first, the directional focus of our emails was to be product focused. With the lasting effects of the pandemic on the supply chain, we made the choice to move to a more educational approach at the start of 2022. At the end of the year, we have now decided to shift again and still keep the email educational, but adapt them to have a more of a newsletter feel.
Advertising
For J.W. Speaker Aftermarket products, we do print advertising in various magazines based on the market of the product. Below are a few ads that I created. For many of the ads, I prefer to take a bolder approach of a single image that shows the application of the given product. Before this, many of our ads were a collage approach with multiple different images and design elements, making them busy and hard focus on a single point.

Branding Guidelines
A goal for the J.W. Speaker Marketing Team for 2022 was to update our branding guidelines. Attached is our previous guidelines, as well as our update and current version.
Learning 3D Rendering
3D rendering is still something that I am practicing and experimenting with. Currently, I have worked with Blender and the Adobe Substance Suite. I have being using the two together to edit CAD drawing from J.W. Speaker engineers, to then bring into Adobe Substance to manipulate, color, texturize and stage.
